Green University Library

Introduction

History

The Green University Library started its journey at the Malek Tower, Farmgate in 2003 as an integral of the Institution. The Library was shifted to Sheorapara and Mirpur campuses in 2007 and merged into the Central Library in 2016. Currently, the University is running two libraries; one is located on the main campus, named ‘Central library’, and the other is located on the permanent campus known as ‘Permanent campus library’. The Central library provides facilities and services in a full swing whereas the permanent campus library is offering limited services due to the few numbers of students enrolled in the permanent campus. Primarily the library launched its services with only 65 books, however, gradually the collection was increased. Now the collection reached 19079.

Resources we offer:

Collection Development in Libraries turns into a burning issue due to the high price of resources, difficulties in the acquisition process, preservation of Library materials, and shrinking of budget. Libraries thus today move forward to collect e-resources. Consequently, the Green University Library diversified its collections and subscribed to e-resources through consortia. Besides, the Library provides e-books through the institutional e-library.
